Warner force knocks out Chennai Kings

David Warner smashed an unbeaten 135 to power New South Wales into the Nokia Champions League Twenty20 semi-finals.

MATCH SCORECARD

The Australians' 201 for two was enough to see them to a 46-run win over the Chennai Super Kings after Warner's impressive knock at Chepauk.

Warner produced a selection of shots including some impressive switch hitting to make his total off 69 balls, enjoying the highest score in the history of the tournament on a notoriously slow pitch.

Man of the Match: David Warner

Highlights

His efforts were enough to put his side top of Group A and secure their spot while denying the Super Kings.

The opener hit 11 fours and eight sixes with Shane Watson (21) and Steven Smith (31) in support en route to the Blues' 201.

Mike Hussey managed 37 in response but the wicket of Suresh Raina (28) signalled the beginning of the end while Mahendra Singh Dhoni put on just two as Chennai eventually slipped to 155 all out.

"This is my best performance in this format," Warner said afterwards. "Tonight was my night."
