- South Africa's 12-run victory is their first in three matches over India in Twenty20 Internationals.
 
- South Africa have extended their record for most victories in succession to seven between March 27, 2009 and June 16,2009.
 
- India's sequence of three defeats between June 12 and 16, 2009 is their worst ever.
 
- South Africa (130/5) have posted their highest total against India, surpassing the 126/9 at Johannesburg on December 1, 2006.

- India's 118/8 is their lowest total against South Africa.   
 
- Johan Botha (3/16) has produced his best bowling performance, surpassing the 2 for 15 against Bangladesh at Johannesburg on November 5, 2008.

- Graeme Smith became the first captain to aggregate 500 runs in Twenty20 Internationals - 503 at an average of 33.53 in 17 matches, including three fifties.

- Overall, he is the fourth batsman to make 500 runs or more in Twenty20 Internationals. Only Brendon McCullum (689), Kevin Pietersen (529) and Misbah-ul-Haq (504) have aggregated more runs than Smith.

SX4 Performer:  AB de Villiers
 
- Abraham de Villiers (63 off 51 balls) has posted his third fifty in Twenty20 Internationals - one each against Scotland, New Zealand and India.
 
- Villiers' career-best is 79 not out off 34 balls against Scotland at The Oval on June7, 2009.
 
- During the course of his aforesaid knock, Villiers has completed his 300 runs - 361 at an average of 24.06 in 20 matches.

- Villiers is the first South African to register a fifty against India in Twenty20 Internationals.
 
- Villiers has received his third Man-of-the-Match award.  He is the first South African to accomplish the feat.
 
- Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan, with 16 wickets each now share the Indian record for most  wickets in Twenty20 Internationals. RP Singh (15) and Zaheer Khan (11) are the next two in the list.
 
- Yuvraj Singh (415) is the second Indian to aggregate 400-plus runs.  Gautam Gambhir (476) is the leading run-getter for India.
 
- Yuvraj is now the first to complete a tally of 30 sixes in Twenty20 Internationals.
