"Permission for the gallery was taken"

The CAB President Jagmohan Dalmiya clarified that permission was taken for the temporary stand in the Eden Gardens.

Dalmiya came out with this statement after a FIR was filed against the Cricket Association of Bengal for breaching the fire safety rules.

Hours after the FIR was filed at the instance of Fire Services minister Pratim Chatterjee, the CAB President's statement said, "We are law-abiding citizens and we always obtain the necessary permissions from the relevant authorities before any event.

"It happened during the last ODI in December, during the Test match in February and this time for IPL too."

Dalmiya claimed that the CAB had taken the permission of the fire brigade and obtained a go ahead from them earlier this month by depositing Rs 2,50,264.
