Mumbai, Kolkata keen to regain form
Both Mumbai and Kolkata would be keen to regain their lost momentum when they take on each other today.
Mumbai started their IPL-3 campaign in style by winning the opening two matches, but they could not pull a win against Bangalore.
Similarly, Kolkata also got off to a fine start, winning their two opening ties but then they followed it up with two back-to-back loses.
For Mumbai, the concerned area has been their bowling attack. They almost lost the match against Jaipur when Yusuf Pathan tore apart their attack, however, they came back brilliantly against Delhi. But they failed collectively against Bangalore.
And now they need to pull up their socks to avoid another defeat in a row.
On the other hand, Kolkata's problem has been mainly their batting.
While the Kolkata bowlers haven't allowed the opponents to cross 170-run mark so far in the tournament but the batting has been very inconsistent.
Hence, the availability of West Indian captain Chris Gayle must give Kolkata a big boost.
So now Kolkata have every chance to go all out against Mumbai and register a win.
