Sahara keen on Sachin as captain
Sahara Group chief Subroto Roy wants Sachin Tendulkar to lead the Pune IPL franchise and the Bachchans to promote the team.
Tendulkar is captain of the Ambani owned Mumbai team and has been in the best IPL form in the edition’s third year.
Roy’s Sahara Group bought the newest IPL side for a whooping Rs1,700 crore on Sunday and the business tycoon is already setting his sights high.
"Who would not... I certainly would want Sachin to captain if he is available," Roy said. His company currently sponsors the Indian cricket team.
Players will be up for auction this September for the next three years and key players from all franchises would be available unless there was no negotiated settlement between them and the owners.
Roy also wants to add a touch of glamour to his team, a fact that has not gone unnoticed in the three year existence of the IPL.
"No human can deny the element of glamour.. so glamour should be added to these kind of activities... it definitely helps."
I have not talked to them yet (Bachchan family)... I will talk to him (Amitabh)," he said.
