Fulham vs Arsenal Player Ratings

Kelvin Tan was shocked at how poorly Arsenal finished the season after their 2-2 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Fulham

Mark Schwarzer: 6

The goalkeeper could do little with either of Arsenal's goals, and did well enough to deny the Gunners any obvious goal-scoring opportunities.

Brede Hangeland: 6

Worked out a good central defensive partnership with Senderos, but the duo's slowness on the turn meant that they were always going to be hard-done by a quick Arsenal attack.

Philippe Senderos: 6

Proved a match for Robin van Persie for most of the match, except for the one goal that the Dutchman notched. Given the performance of the central defenders

Matthew Briggs: 6

Resolute in his efforts, Briggs did well when called upon.

Aaron Hughes: 6

The versatile Northern Irishman was all over the pitch for Fulham, and made a few critical passes that kept them out of trouble.

Steve Sidwell: 6

Clearly has a bone to pick with his ex-employers, Sidwell would be pleased at getting on the score sheet.

Danny Murphy (Off 66'): 6

The ex-Liverpool player almost got on the scoresheet in the first half, but was denied by a last-ditch effort by Vermaelen.

Jonathan Greening (Off 66'): 6

Relentless in his running, the ex-Manchester United trainee was crucial as Fulham sought to wrest possession from Arsenal.

Clint Dempsey: 6

Good play from the American left the home fans cheering, and he worked well with Greening to half the flow of the Arsenal attack.

Andrew Johnson: 6

Combined well with Zamora on several occasions and did well when the ball was at his feet

Bobby Zamora (Off 71'): 7

Impressed throughout with the quality of his play- strong and resolute, he gave Djourou problems all afternoon, and was rewarded with a goal to give Fulham the lead in the second half.

Subs

Zoltan Gera (On 71'): 0

The Hungarian barely got sweat on his jersey and got sent off in the 73rd minute after a reckless two-footed lunge on Thomas Vermaelen.

Simon Davis (On 66'): 7

Made several runs into the heart of the Arsenal half and showed a refreshing directness to his play.

Dickson Etuhu (On 66'): 5

Did little to distinguish himself after coming on.

Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny: 4

Had a horror show, making several elementary errors, and nearly gifted Danny Murphy a goal in the first half.

Thomas Vermaelen: 7

Showed alertness to deny Danny Murphy a sure-goal after the Fulham player ran through on goal, but was unable to cope with the power of Bobby Zamora as the Englishman scored Fulham's second.

Johan Djourou: 4

The Swiss lad is simply not making a strong case for to be in the starting eleven with his recent performances, and looked out of his league against the Fulham attack on several occasions.

Kieran Gibbs ( Off 63'): 5

Was not able to really rampage forward as usual with periods of sustained pressure from Fulham.

Bacary Sagna: 6

Overlapped well in the first half but was forced back in the second as Danny Murphy began attacking down the left flank.

Jack Wilshere: 5

It was clear that for the Englishman, the heart was willing, but the body was weak, as he looked a pale shadow of his usual energetic self. Perhaps it really is a bad idea for him to play for both the U-21's and the senior England team this summer?

Abou Diaby (Off 63'): 5

The Frenchman looked fresh and lively early in the contest, but faded in the second.

Samir Nasri: 5

Did not really look very sharp after his return from injury- gave the ball needlessly away on several occasions.

Robin Van Persie: 7

Showed exquisite touch to help Arsenal draw level to 1-1 in the first half.

Marouane Chamakh: 6

The Moroccan showed good awareness and combined well with Van Persie and Diaby on several occasions, but spent too little time in the box itself to make a real impact.

Aaron Ramsey (Off 63'): 5

Didn't really contribute much to the contest, clearly still finding his legs after returning from injury.

Subs

Theo Walcott ( On 63'): 7

Was always threatening to score after coming on, and did well to squeeze the ball into the bottom left corner to beat Schwarzer for Arsenal's equaliser.

Andrey Arshavin ( On 63'): 4

Gave the ball away with so much frequency it looked as if he was a Fulham player more than an Arsenal player. A move is clearly imminent for the Russian.

Emmanuel Eboue ( On 63'): 6

Came on and stabilized the left flank for the Gunners after he came on.
