Buriram PEA seal Thailand treble
Buriram PEA completed a superb domestic treble on Sunday when they added the Thai League Cup to the Thai Premier League title and the Thai FA Cup they had won earlier this season.
A 21st minute goal from Rangsan Vivatchaichok coupled with Clarence Bintang's late strike, helped Buriram beat Thai Port FC 2-0 at Bangkok's Supachalasai Stadium - a win that sees Buriram add yet another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet at the end of what has been a stellar campaign for Attapol Bussapakom's charges.
"It's a dream come true, we have won three trophies this season," said Buriram PEA chairman Newin Chidchob.
"I am very happy. We have worked very hard in the past two years and achieved great success."
Buriram PEA coach Attapol Bussapakom added: "We are very happy and we have been rewarded for our hard work. We will have a tougher task next season though as we will also play in the AFC Champions League."
Buriram PEA are in Group H of the 2012 AFC Champions League and face a tough introduction to continental club football having been pooled with J.League champions Kashiwa Reysol, K-League winners and 2011 ACL runners-up Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Chinese Super League title winners Guangzhou Evergrande.
The Thailand treble winners make their continental debut on March 7 when they host Kashiwa.
