Terengganu recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over local rivals T-Team on Friday evening to climb up to third in the Malaysia Super League.

Peter Butler's charges entered the derby clash at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium looking to end a run of four league games without a win, while T-Team were looking to make it three wins in a row after recording back-to-back 2-1 triumphs over Kuala Lumpur and Sabah.

However, it was the Turtles who raced to a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to a brace from striker Abdul Manaf Mamat, before they went on to wrap up all three points when Abdul Hadi Yahya grabbed a third in the second period.

And while the victory lifts Terengganu to third on the table, Negri Sembilan, Selangor and Perak can only overtake them on Saturday in their respective games against Felda United, Sarawak and Johor FC.
