We rate the players in the game between Chelsea and West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea
Ross Turnbull - 5
Was barely tested on his Premier League debut. Picking the ball out of the net after Scott Parker's wonderful strike was the most exercise he got - and no one- not even Cech could have stopped that.
John Terry - 7
Had a crucial role to play in Chelsea's first two goals. Robbed the sluggish Aruajo Ilan time and again - and made some thunderous runs down the centre of midfield.
Alex - 5.5
Did not have much to do defensively but got Chelsea started with a superbly timed jump to head the ball in from close range.
Paulo Ferreira - 6
Was hampered by his inability to cross quickly off his left foot - but linked up well with Malouda to make the left flank a highly lucrative one for the Blues. Did not allow Valom Behrami to pose any sort of threat at all - marking his man tightly.
Branislav Ivanovic - 4
Was hardly in the game as most Chelsea attacks came from the left. Looked uncomfortable against the dogged Dyer and need the help of his fellow defenders to stop the Englishman.
John Obi Mikel - 5.5
Executed some lovely lobbed balls over the West Ham defence. Mopped up things well in midfield and set Chelsea on their way with some quick passing. Should have been marking Parker better when the latter scored his briliant goal.
Michael Ballack - 6
Served as the link between Mikel and the advanced players. Played some lovely little triangles with Frank Lampard and Mikel - but never really looked like he would score.
Frank Lampard - 7
West Ham sat deep - which allowed Lampard to get into the advanced spaces he loves to much. Had a couple of shots on target which were saved by the brilliant Robert Green. Slipped in some good balls for Drogba and Anelka.
Florent Malouda - 9.5
Probably the best performance by a winger in a long time. Malouda was absolutely unstoppable on the left and sent in one high quality cross after another. His pace, dribbling along with the fact that West Ham played a narrow back-line allowed him to carve wide open spaces for himself and he did not waste a single opportunity to cross the ball in. Rounded off things nicely with a goal of his own.
Didier Drogba - 6.5
Got in between the two central defenders time and again and was rewarded with a brace for his troubles. However he was not really in the fearsome form we have become used to - losing control or shooting wide on numerous occasions.
Nicolas Anelka - 6
Was overshadowed by Malouda on the left, but played a good supporting role - helping Chelsea switch flanks. Linked up well with Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.
Subs
Joe Cole - 7
Made a superb little cameo during which he had a few shots on goal, teed up Lampard a couple of times and showed off some of his sparkling skills.
Yuri Zhirkov - n.a
Salomon Kalou - n.a
West Ham
Robert Green - 7.5
Made some magnificent saves to prevent Chelsea from running away with the game in the first half. Was assured with his handling and catching of the ball as well.
Daniel Gabbidon - 4
Did not allow Drogba to turn easily, but failed to pick out the Ivorian's runs on numerous occasions - allowing him to drift in between the defence and threaten constantly.
Matthew Upson - 4
Did not combine well with Gabbidon - leaving too much space in between for Drogba and others to run into. Failed to close down the Chelsea players quickly. It was only a combination of luck, help from the midfield and some superb keeping by Green that prevented Chelsea from running riot.
Fabio Daprela - 5.5
The youngster had a decent outing against a marauding line-up. Cropped up time and again to clear Florent Malouda's whipped crosses. Never really had a chance to showcase his crossing quality up front.
Jonathan Spector - 3
Had a horrible outing as Malouda pummelled the box with crosses from his side of the park. Played too narrow in an attempt to help out his central defenders which allowed Malouda to rampage down the left. Delivered some decent crosses when he got the chance to move up - but ultimately it was his poor defensive performance that allowed Chelsea to win.
Radoslav Kovac - 4
Allowed Alex to get in front of him for the first goal and did not really do much as an attacking force. Allowed Chelsea's midfield duo of Lampard and Ballack to dominate proceedings.
Scott Parker - 8
West Ham's player of the match. Smashed in a spectacular effort from midfield, but was even more awesome in defence - tracking the runs of Lampard and Anelka with some great anticipation. Was a vital cog in ever West Ham foray forward and his committment was absolutely superb.
Valon Behrami - 4
Gave Chelsea too much room on his side of the midfield. Could rarely get past Paulo Ferreira which reduced West Ham's attacking options.
Kieron Dyer - 5.5
Had a good outing on his return - getting the better of Ivanovic occasionally and cutting in for a few shots on goal.
Hossam Mido - 6
Harried and bullied defenders - especially when he drifted into wide areas towards Paulo Ferreira. Dropped back to pick up the ball and held it up well.
Aruajo Ilan - 2
Was the poorest West Ham player and probably the worst player on the pitch. Missed a sitter early on, lost possession frequently and failed to help out defensivley.
Subs
Alessandro Diamanti - n.a
Junior Stanislas - 5
Did not get much of the ball and could not make his sizzling pace count.
Carlton Cole - 4
Looked leaden-footed and never really threatened
