European Football Tuesday Round-up
Kilmarnock missed the opportunity to return to the Clydesdale Bank Premier League's top six as Dunfermline claimed a valuable point with a 1-1 draw at East End Park on Tuesday night.
Scottish Premier League
In a game originally postponed due to fog on December 10, James Fowler's deflected shot after 21 minutes put Killie ahead as the visitors sought to avenge the 3-0 loss to the Pars on January 21.
Andy Kirk equalised after 44 minutes, and although Dunfermline's search for a first home victory of the season goes on, the Pars draw level on points with Hibernian at the foot of the standings, while Killie move into seventh.
Coupe de France
Rennes booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France by seeing off Evian 3-2 in Tuesday's sole surviving last-16 encounter.
With Tuesday's two other scheduled matches between Dijon and Paris St Germain and Quevilly and Orleans postponed due to frozen pitches, the game at Route de Lorient took centre stage.
The hosts went in front through Jires Ekoko after 21 minutes and Julien Feret made it 2-0 nine minutes into the second period.
Substitute Yacine Brahimi made it three in the 68th minute, before late consolation strikes by Kevin Berigaud (70pen) and Sidney Govou (73) set up a grandstand finish.
PSG's game at Dijon has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, while Quevilly and Orleans will now meet on February 21.
