Torres: Aguero won't be Madrid traitor

Former Atletico Madrid favourite Fernando Torres reckons Sergio Aguero will not join city rivals Real Madrid.

The Spain striker who himself courted controversy when he made his £50million move from Liverpool to Chelsea just over a week ago, does not believe Aguero will go the same route and be marked as a traitor by fans.

"It is normal that a team would be interested in a player such as Kun [Aguero], however, I don't think he will leave [for Real Madrid]," Torres was quoted in Sky Sports News as saying.

"It would be strange [for him to join Real] but it his decision. It is complicated because when you are at Atletico the fans show you what the club means.

"Kun is a great player and when things don't go well he dreams of the big clubs."

Aguero's future at the club has come under constant speculation and it was only in the last transfer window where the 22-year-old put some of the rumours to rest by signing a contract extension.

However, the two-and-a-half-year extension to his existing deal is also thought to reduce the buy-out clause in the player's contract which is sure to fuel more reports of a big money move not being too far away.

Aguero arrived at the club as a 17-year-old and has gone on to become one of the highest rated strikers in the world.
