AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri wants to stay at the club for a long time but only by winning silverwares will he keep his job.

The Italian tactician took over at the San Siro last year and has already led the Rossoneri to their first Serie A title since 2004.

Looking ahead to the season, Allegri expressed his admiration for the club which he hopes to manage for an extended period.

"Milan are an absolutely fantastic club," Allegri was quoted as saying by Rai 1. "I would love to stay here for a long time. However, it all depends on the results we get.

"We started pretty well in my first year as we won the league title. Then we went on to win the Supercoppa Italiana. I hope we can repeat that success."

Milan have made a mixed start to the 2011-12 Serie A campaign and currently sit 12th in the table with five points from four games.
