Reja jubliant after Lazio fightback
Lazio tactician Edy Reja revealed that his troops deserve a monument built in their honour following their pulsating 3-2 comeback victory against Cesena.
The Roman outfit suffered a catastrophic opening first half at the Stadio Olympico after going down 2-0 thanks to goals from the Cesena pair of Adrian Mutu and Vincenzo Iaquinta with Abdoulay Konko also seeing red for the home side after hauling down Mutu.
But second-half strikes from Hernanes, Senad Lulic and substitute Libor Kozak sent the Lazio faithful into a frenzy as the Biancocelesti denied Cesena their first ever league win in Rome.
"The boys have been extraordinary," Reja purred in an interview with Sky Sport Italia in his post-match press conference.
"This game is like winning the derby for me."
"This is a team that gives every last drop of sweat; you should build them a monument!"
"What did I tell the team during the break? I calmed the boys down and I just said that we were stronger than Cesena and that we just had to get out there and believe it."
"I was certain that we would turn the game around."
Lazio's brilliant win has seen them risen to the third place in the Serie A standings, just three points behind league leaders Juventus although the Bianconeri have two games in hand over the former.
