Siena vs Roma Preview

Daniel Osvaldo will make his first appearance for Roma in 2012 when his team visits Siena in Serie A on Monday evening.

The forward has recovered from a thigh injury that has sidelined for five weeks and Roma coach Luis Enrique is ready to throw his seven-goal top scorer into the action in Tuscany.

"I think Osvaldo is ready to play," Enrique said. "He is in good condition although he is not 100%, but that's normal considering he has just come out of an injury."

Roma head into the encounter at the Artemio Franchi stadium on the back of a midweek 1-1 draw at Catania, a result which followed their 4-0 triumph over Inter Milan.

Victory on Monday could see Roma leapfrog Inter into fifth after the Nerazzurri lost 1-0 against Novara to leave them just one point clear of the Giallorossi.

"We are doing well and this gives me confidence," Enrique said. "It's a good sign when you see your team get consistent results.

"But we have to continue to work hard as we have a difficult game ahead.

"I thought Siena played really well against us earlier in the campaign and we were fortunate to get a draw against them the last time we faced them."

Siena are 17th and will have an added motivation to beat Roma as they look to extend their two-point advantage over the relegation zone.

The Tuscan outfit held league leaders Juventus to a goalless draw in Turin last weekend before beating Napoli 2-1 in Thursday's Coppa Italia semi-final first leg.

"They were great results for us," Siena coach Giuseppe Sannino said. "Now we have to follow those performances with another solid display against Roma.

"But I expect a challenging game because Roma play the best football in Serie A."

Roma will be without midfielder Daniele De Rossi, who is suspended.
