Saina wants to play less, win more

With the 2010 Commonwealth Games round the corner, ace shuttler Saina Nehwal has decided to cut down the number of her match appearances.

She rather wants to inculcate a winning habit.

"Now, I would like to play less and win more, so that I remain focused. I feel it will also help me to stay fit and perform better," Saina, who was selected for Padma Shri award, told PTI.

Saina, who scripted history by becoming the first Indian to win a Super Series tournament after clinching Indonesian Open title last year, said this "recognition" would motivate her to improve performance in the days to come.

"I think, this is a recognition of my performance. It will really motivate me to do well in future," Saina said.

"I would like to dedicate this achievement to my parents and coaches who have helped me a lot to improve my game.

"It's really a big honour, which also comes with a lot more responsibilities. It will certainly give a lot of encouragement. I am very happy," world number seven Saina added.
