Boxing: Pacquiao, Clottey make weight

Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey both made weight for their eagerly-awaited showdown in Texas on Saturday night.

P4P king Pacquiao (50-3-2) defends his WBO welterweight title against Clottey (35-3) in front of a sellout crowd of 45,000 inside the gleaming $1.2billion Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

And the Filipino icon, coming off that devastating display in stopping Miguel Cotto last November, tipped the scales at a career-heaviest 145 and three-quarter pounds.

Clottey meanwhile came in right on the welterweight limit of 147 pounds.

The challenger from Ghana said: "I feel so good. I'm determined and I'm ready. I have my gameplan. I know Manny is a good fighter but I'm ready for him. I'm ready to show the world who Joshua Clottey is."

Pacquiao meanwhile said: "I'm not going to promise a knockout but I'll do my best to make people happy. I don't want them to be disappointed on Saturday night. People are going to be surprised by our strategy."
