Bolt to face Powell in Paris
Usain Bolt will go head to head with fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Paris this summer.
Bolt last year lit up a chilly and rainy night at the event with a fine winning time of 9.79 seconds on what was his first-ever appearance at the Stade de France.
The 23-year-old's participation this year had been in doubt but it has now been confirmed he will line up for the 100m in the French capital on July 16.
"His potential remains an enigma; nobody knows what he's capable of," said Laurent Boquillet, head of the Paris meeting.
"He is in a class of his own, but his presence should electrify the rest of the race. We may see other athletes benefit from the high pace to score some very big times."
World bronze medallist Powell was responsible for Bolt's last defeat over 100m - in Stockholm in 2008.
