Skiing: Sixth slalom success for Schild

Marlies Schild continued to dominate the World Cup slalom with victory in Soldeu-Grandvalira, Andorra.

The Austrian trailed after the opening run but recovered to claim her sixth triumph of the season in a combined time of one minute 39.44 seconds.

The victory further increases Schild's advantage at the top of the slalom standings ahead of Slovenian Tina Maze, who could only finish 11th in the Pyrenees.

Second place went to Swede Frida Hansdotter in one min 40.04 secs, with third spot going to Austrian Kathrin Zettel in 1:40.30.

Neither American Lindsey Vonn, who leads the overall World Cup standings, nor Olympic slalom champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany, who is third in the classification behind Vonn and Maze, could finish their first runs on Saturday.
