NHL: Toronto in play-off picture

Toronto climbed back into play-off position in the Eastern Conference with a 5-0-1 record in their last six games with a 6-3 win over Edmonton.

Phil Kessel scored twice and Mikhail Grabovski assisted on Toronto's first two goals to lead the Maple Leafs past the Oilers.

Clarke MacArthur, Jake Gardiner, Tyler Bozak and Joffrey Lupul also scored for the Maple Leafs.

Jordan Eberle scored twice and Jeff Petry had a goal for Edmonton.

The Phoenix Coyotes ended a seven-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings as Mike Smith stopped 30 shots and Martin Hanzal scored twice.

Boyd Gordon had a short-handed goal in the first period for the Coyotes who made it consecutive wins over two of the Western Conference's best times in San Jose and Detroit.

The Red Wings, who lost for the third time in 12 games, had Johan Franzen net for a 20th time for them.

The Anaheim Ducks had a 3-2 shootout win against Calgary Flames, Nicklas Hagmans scoring the deciding goal in the eighth round.

Bobby Ryan and Matt Beleskey scored less than two minutes apart in the first period for the Ducks, who won the tiebreaker by a 3-2 margin. Jonas Hiller made 24 saves.
