NHL: Richards leads Lightning to a win
The New York Rangers recorded a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning after Brad Richards scored 2:37 into overtime.
New York's Brian Boyle tied it at 10:13 of the third period, pouncing on a loose puck and driving past Mathieu Garon.
Steven Stamkos scored his NHL-best 36th goal of the season in the first period and added an assist for Tampa Bay. Defenseman Bruno Gervais and Vincent Lecavalier also scored.
Derek Stepan had a goal and an assist, and captain Ryan Callahan added a goal for the Eastern Conference-leading Rangers.
The Philadelphia Flyers were 4-3 winners against the Toronto Maple Leafs as Claude Giroux and Brayden Schenn scored 1:14 apart in the second period.
Scott Hartnell and Max Talbot also had goals for Philadelphia to bring an end to a three-game losing streak.
The Maple Leafs, who were 6-2-1 in their previous nine games, had Tyler Bozak scoring two goals and Joffrey Lupul adding one.
The Winnipeg Jets were 3-2 winners over the Washington Capitals, overcoming a two-goal deficit in the final 2:15 of regulation before triumphing in the shootout.
TJ Oshie was the decisive player in the shootout as he got the only goal as the St Louis Blues ended the New Jersey Devils' five-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory.
The Montreal Canadiens recorded a third straight win with a 4-2 triumph against the New York Islanders, Max Pacioretty scoring three goals and Scott Gomez netting his first in more than a year.
Kari Lehtonen made 26 saves and Jamie Benn scored two goals as the Dallas Stars defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-2.
The Florida Panthers had a first win against the Los Angeles Kings in eight tries, winning 3-1 with goals from Sean Bergenheim, Mike Santorelli and Matt Bradley.
Chris Phillips marked his 1,000th NHL game with his first two goals of the season as the Ottawa Senators ended a seven-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators.
The Vancouver Canucks beat Minnesota 5-2 as Henrik and Daniel Sedin both scored against the Wild for the first time in their careers. Maxim Lapierre, Manny Malhotra and Ryan Kesler also scored for the Canucks.
Phoenix had a 2-1 overtime win against Calgary.
